MotorStorm (PS3)
Race in amazing scenic environments that capture some of America’s most recognizable desert landmarks - Wide-open plains, harrowing cliff edges, and tight canyon sections

Customer Review: Best racer on PS3
surely the greatest off-road racer that has been invented!the graphics are great, the cars are super and the way the mud flys into the camra is amazing.there are a variaty of vehicles in this game including: motor bikes, ATV’s and trucks.

it is just marvellous.

Customer Review: Until Motorstorm 2’s Tropical Thrills, This Is The Best Racer On PS3.
The recently released trailer for Motorstorm 2 made me go back and play the original again. Its easy to forget how much of an impact this game has. Visually the game is incredibly detailed, but the actual racing feels realistic.

Career modes are shunned in favour of pure racing. These are unlocked after completing the previous event. This does create a few sticking points, escpecially around the Level 4 difficulty mark. Every race is a tense affair, where a slight mistake on the final lap could cost the race.

The amount of tracks is also limited, but the different vehicles open these up in completely new ways.

Its obvious what needs improving in the sequel, particularly depth and variety. But for pure racing thrills, and an early glimpse of what the PS3 is capable of, Motorstorm is essential.

Resident Evil 5 (PS3) Recipient of just about every game of the year award going in 2005, Resident 4 wasn’t just one of the best games of the last generation it was also one of the boldest reinventions of a well established franchise ever seen. The only problem was how Capcom were ever going to top it and since almost nothing has been revealed about the game so far that’s still a difficult question to answer.

Some facts are known about the game though, in that it uses the same basic gameplay and controls as Resident Evil 4, as well as some other elements from the very first Resident Evil. The latter isn’t surprising as a different team are working on this new game, many of whom worked on the very first game from back on the PSone.

The trailer shows a desert, possibly Middle Eastern, setting with what appears to be fast moving zombies in pursuit of what may, or may not, be Chris Redfield. What is known is that temperature will play an important role in the game, with characters having to cool down if they get too sweaty - even getting heatstroke or passing out from overheating. The game will also feature online elements for the first time in a core Resident Evil game, although again their exact nature remains a mystery. In fact the only thing that’s known for certain about the game is that with a track record this good it’s almost certainly going to be worth the wait finding out about.

Customer Review: All-change for Leon and Co
I’m sad to say that the new Resident Evil title sees a drastic departure for everyone’s favourite zombie-hunting frolic-fest.

Capcom have made the unprecedented decision to completely ditch action / horror gameplay in favour of a turn-based combat system. Remember Final Fantasy 7? Well, it’s rather like that. You play Adolf, a manga-styled Nazi sympathiser let loose in an unspecified African state with a shotgun, a small arsenal of magic and your unshakeable faith in Der Vaterland. What follows is a morally sickening romp through what can only be described as “fantasy ethnic cleansing”.

Unmissable.

Turning Point : Fall Of Liberty (PS3)
Customer Review: PLAINLY THE WORST PS3 GAME EVER
with some of the worst graphics on ps3‘>ps3 rubbish gameplay glitches galore this is probably the worst game on ps3‘>ps3. IF YOU WERE GOING TO BUY THIS GAME HERE IS AN IDEA DONT GET CALL OF DUTY INSTEAD.

Customer Review: Funny but not fun
As with the other reviewers , I agree the graphics are shocking ,even the vehicle textures are plain i.e. no detail.

There are clipping bugs everywhere (funny) and the enemy AI is non-existent. They don’t seem to even be aware of you at times .

Having, said all that I love FPS’s so I still got something out of it - not worth the ?45 I paid though

So one star only and thats pushing it

Formula One Championship Edition (PS3)

In a nutshell:
The most exciting Formula One season for a long time has spawned a console simulation to match with long awaited new online modes and some surprising PSP connectivity options???

The lowdown:
Owning the official FIA license means this game is the only one with all the real 2006 drivers, cars, teams, circuits and rules – but thankfully there’s more to this game than dull simulation. In fact this year’s iteration prides itself on being accessible to everyone with scalable driving aids for every skill level. There’s also a new online version for all versions, where you can compete in a full 18 race season with real human opponents. Other welcome new additions include taking the options of playing as chief engineer through the existing career mode and more subtle change such as computer driven cars that make believable mistakes instead of just robotically keeping to the racing line.

Most exciting moment:
Since the PS2 and PSP versions are coming out at the same time you’re able to transfer data between each, you can even race other players online on the other version, no matter which console they’re playing on.

Since you ask:
Although little is known about the PS3 version of the game so far Sony has demonstrated a way to connect the PSP to it and use the portable console as a fully interactive wing mirror – displaying exactly what is going on behind you in full 3D.

The bottom line:
The PS2 and PSP are in pole position for this welcome racing update.

Customer Review: Excellent game - recomended
This is an excellent game - and being an avid Formula One Grand Prix fan it is easier for me to appreciate just how good this is. It is impressive graphics wise, quite a step forward from the old PS2, and the game play is good also. You have several different modes, a quick race, a championship, a test day, or a five year career mode. The game incorporates all the good elements of the 2006 FIA Formula One world championship, drivers and cars alike, although if there is one complaint it would be the fact that Juan Montoya is still in the McLaren, but obviously the game went to the shelves before that could be rectified. The cars handle and drive well, and can be altered and set up nicely to drive excellently. Just a little complaint again, would be the sometimes jagged nature of the steering, but it’s a minor niggle. There is also an F1TV mode, which allows you to see an entire grand prix race played out on your screen, just as you would on a race weekend. This is a good extra, one that I have always appreciated, and can get surprisingly exciting at “crucial” points in races!! All in all a good game, and definetly recommended.
Customer Review: A totally different game compared to the old!!!!
I got this game when i bought the ps3‘>ps3 package. I had nearly every season of the F1 games on the PS2 (what a fool i was) they were rubbish, nothing felt right and the games were rubbish so i took a gamble with the new one and it payed off. Its brilliant, graphics, handling, car setup, everything is how it should be on a F1 game. Its a definate buy for me!

Premium Component Cable (PS3) Customer Review: Good cable
As i said in the title it is a good cable and like the other review said it is alot cheaper than the official one and to tell the truth i doubt it is any worse , so save yourself some cash and put that to a game lol and get this cable if you need a component cable .
Customer Review: Much better than the official component cable
I normally avoid these dodgy third-party manufacturers, but thought I’d give one a shot after my official Sony cable died on me.

As my Bravia only has one HDMI socket, using component for the PS3 is a great solution (to avoid having to unhook the Sky). The picture quality is as good as via HDMI, at least to the naked eye. No doubt AV geeks will have their own opinions.

This cable feels solidly made, albeit nowhere near the standards of true ‘premium’ AV cabling. However, where you would easily pay ?50+ for a component cable for hooking up a DVD player for example, this is fairly priced at under ?20.

Most importantly, it plugs in to the PS3 with a solid, positive feel, unlike the official cable, which had to be forced in to make a decent connection.

This is easily a better buy.

Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)

Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
In a nutshell:
A new Final Fantasy game was always going to be a given for the PlayStation 3 but the teaser trailer shown by Square Enix at E3 shows that work on the new game is far more advanced, and far more impressive, than previously thought.

The lowdown:
Through careful study of the trailer and the few pieces of information Square Enix have left slip it’s revealed that the new game is set across several different time periods, with each episode of the story starring a different cast of characters. The trailer showed a very futuristic looking world as well as some lush looking forest environments. How much of what was seen is actual real-time PlayStation 3 graphics is unclear, but the fact that it’s so difficult to tell which is which speaks volumes about the game’s quality. The only other fact known about the game is that, despite some rumours to the contrary, it does not feature an online mode.

Most exciting moment:
Getting a glimpse of the all new combat system which seems to suggest a new, more action orientated, direction for the blockbusting series.

Since you ask:
Two spin-offs of the game are already planned, one called Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PS3 and the other called Final Fantasy Agito XIII for mobile phones.

The bottom line:
A milestone in the history of the world’s most famous role-playing game series.

Time Crisis 4 (with Gun) (PS3)

Namco (or Namco Bandai as they’re now known, after their merger) have long been one of the PlayStation’s most ardent supporters, with many of their key series such as Ridge Racer, Tekken and Ace Combat being synonymous with Sony’s consoles even when they do appear on other formats. Time Crisis is another classic series to be added to the list and while the original arcade version has been out for a while now, like previous home console adaptations this adds a whole raft of new features on top of it. As a start though all the levels from the coin-op are here, with the same wide range of different weapons to use - from machine guns to shotguns and rocket launchers.

Also featured is an evolution of the feature in PS one only game Time Crisis: Project Titan, which expands the series’ signature duck and cover feature to allow you to switch hiding places in certain situations. Because older lightguns don’t work on modern television Time Crisis 4 comes bundled with the all new GunCon 3 controller, which uses two infrared LED markers placed on either side of your television. Working in a similar manner to the Wii this ensures compatibility with any kind of television as well as the utmost accuracy. The GunCon 3 also features an analogue stick so that you can control the game in five new first person shoot `em-up levels which are interspersed amongst the original levels and make this the most innovative entry in the series yet.

Customer Review: US version of Time Crisis 4
does anyone know if US PS3 games work on the UK consoles at all? or do you need the 60 gig version as I have only a standard 40 gig UK console. Thanks
Customer Review: Great but late
This is a great game and looks just like the arcade version you put pounds in to keep playing. But even the arcade/this game have just OK graphics and music. There are additional mini games included which adds to the life of this game. The G Con gun is a disappointment. It is big and clumsy and looks nothing like a gun really. Due to LCD TV’s you have to place two sensors on the side of the screen to pick up the gun. Finally the gun is not wireless so you end up with a cable hanging out of the end of the gun. In conclusion, a good game that will give hours of entertainment but let down by the gun.

Customer Review: Simply Awful
Do not buy this game what ever you do its like stepping back in time ,the graphics and textures are straight off the PS1 and the online play is a total shambles.bought and took it back a day later, its a poor effort from Ubisoft who used Vegas’s massive fan base to make loads more money and rip everyone off with a game that is no more than a slightly updated Vegas1……LAZY Money Grabbers!!!…..Buy Call of Duty4 instead.
Customer Review: Unfinished
Put quite simply - the online aspect of the game does not work at all. It’s either unfinished, untested - call it what you will its impossible to play. There’s currently a 1 in 20 chance of being able to accept an invite and the chances are if you successfully accept an invite, you’ll be thrown out of the game. Don’t but this if you want to play online - wait until its fixed. If you want to play offline - don’t buy it yet. Wait until the Marketplace is flooded with cheap copies as people who want to play online will be selling it on.

The New Stylish Aluminium 40 CD / DVD Wallet / Case
Brand New Boxed
Customer Review: Nice Case - Nasty CD Holders
The aluminium case (with plastic trim) looks great - the CD/DVD Holders/pockets inside are another matter. 1)They’re just a tad small. and 2)While the non scratch material is fine the clear plastic film has a Y shaped slot in it which leaves a tongue of plastic remaining in contact with the playing surface - a bad thing. Unless you wanna spend time field-modifying all 40 pockets with a pair of scissors avoid. If the pockets were improved I’d give this 4 to 5 stars as it is I’d rate it 2 and a half stars.
Customer Review: It’s ok for the money
On the face of it, this product looks great! However there a couple of things to be aware of: Although the case body IS made of aluminium, the catch and the shiny corners are not! They are cheap and rather flimsy plastic. The case looks good, but these features disappoint. If I had bought this item at its RRP of ?19.99, I would send it straight back! As I got it very cheap, I’ve given it an “average” rating. Just make sure you don’t pay too much for it.

Customer Review: Ruined by unfinished online component.
The main single player game will be allot of fun if you like to hone your arcade skills with multiple plays through the same level. I didn’t enjoy it that much but I really bought The Club for it’s online multiplayer. Unfortunately the lack of a friend list or any way to lock hosted games to specified users means that there’s no way for me to play on a server with friends. Every online session is with a random collection of players. This is fun for a while but it quickly becomes boring especially as there is also no voice support online so there’s no way of working out tactics with your ad-hoc team as you play. The 360 version isn’t missing these online options probably because Microsoft wouldn’t sign off on it’s release without them. However as they weren’t required for the PS3 release they just haven’t been done. It’s ruined what would have been one of the PS3’s better games.
Customer Review: Not as terrible as people say
I was reluctant to play this game at first as I had read the other reviews about how bad it was and that its boring, but after playing the demo I got a pleasant surprise at how refreshing the gameplay was and how it had its own gameplay style. It uses a points based system which I thought was intuitive and enjoyed playing it and so it is not as terrible as people make it out to be.
