Ps3 Blu-Ray Dvd Remote Control (PS3)

Ps3 Blu-Ray Dvd Remote Control (PS3)
Customer Review: Awful remote but good to use with universal remote
This is extremely poorly made and the remote is useless. However, it’s very good to use with infra-red universal remotes such as the Logitech Harmony series.

It is now known by the Logitech Harmony database so just add a new device called “Logic3 PS3 Remote” and you’ll all set.

Customer Review: On the other hand for those wanting to add IR control to PS3

In defence of this product given the earlier review, I too wouldn’t use this remote instead of the bluetooth Sony one. However if you want to be able to control the PS3 using a universal infra-red remote this can help you achieve that. Basically you plug the dongle into the PS3, teach your universal remote the IR commands from the supplied remote and you can then navigate DVDs and even play games using your universal remote.

The only thing you can’t do is power the PS3 on/off because the dongle itself doesn’t receive power until the PS3 itself is on (this isn’t much of an issue for playing a DVD as you have to put the DVD into the PS3 anyway).

Stuntman: Ignition (PS3)

Stuntman: Ignition (PS3)
Customer Review: “ACTION!!”
I am addicted to this game it’s great to just pick up and play, has great graphics, sounds and menus. Basically you are a stuntman hired to perform stunts in big movies the game is’nt too hard but it takes a few go’s to remember the exact route of each scene without missing any marks.

The whole game is well thought out and load times are great - the game is very immersive although you may find yourself ploughing into an oncoming vehicle or brick wall due to you eyeing up the gorgeous surroundings instead of looking at the road! Each movie stunt scene you drive in is different and I find myself forever going back to better my last score. Also the in-game slo-mos when you make a jump are a lovely touch and you can save and replay your stunt runs to see how they looked! If you want something a bit different, fun and with lots of colour and explosions -buy this! It’s superb fun!

Customer Review: Fun with crashes, turns and stunts, a bit repetative if you don’t progress quickly
I first tried this when I downloaded the demo from the PSN, and finally decided to buy the full version. If you are not sure, then download the demo and see for yourself.

It’s fun or frustrating, depending on how good you do. Essentially you listen to the director and look for yellow targets while driving around a film set. Each set has six scenes, starting off relatively easy and getting more difficult and longer. The magic trick here is to memorise them and then you know where to position yourself for the next take.

It can be frustrating since everything is designed to be in the way if you miss a stunt, or crash into something you shouldn’t of, or miss your mark. But it can be fun when you get your flow going and hit all the marks. If you miss five stunts during the scene, the director will call cut and you will have to start again, and he will tell you off, which can be funny for a while but downright annoying when you take 20 goes to get to the end. He also praises you and offers his sisters phone number when you do well.

So the trick is to do all the stunts at the right place and in as short a time as possible. When you make it to the end of a scene, you are awarded a rating, one to five in stars based on how many stunts you missed and the time it took. To get the really good points you need to string it, which means you need to complete a stunt or something stunt like (scrape a car, miss an object by an inch etc) within two seconds of the last stunt. To progress to the next scene you need to score reasonably well, I found a two or three rating should do the trick.

There are several films in production, the first is a sort of rip of a volcano movie such as Dante’s Peak, escaping from a town with lava flowing down the hill, you have to jump, crash, handbrake turn, slide your way to safety. You get to use a few different cars and a motorbike while escaping.

The second is a sort of rip of The Dukes of Hazzard with the good old boys running around a small town, this time you get to try a few different vehicles, such as the armoured van, the souped-up pickup truck, motorbike, etc. The third, fourth, fifth etc, well who knows, not made it that far yet.

Overall it is fun to play and easy to pick up and let your friends have a quick session too. It can get repetitive if you take a while to memorise the scenes and are not the best gamer around, but I find it’s best to dip in and out of it for 30 minutes at a time, but I always have a laugh when playing and anyone else who has a go loves the idea too, I can’t get them off it.

Customer Review: Where are my feet???
There’s a lot to like about half-life 2. I tried playing half-life, but honestly, the frustration on the PC got out-of-hand. The issue wasn’t the PC, the computer is far more powerful than need be, but the issue was with the character moving like he’s on roller skates. Yes, I mean it. When I play Oblivion or Bioshock the screen looks and the movement feels like walking or running, when you play a Half-Life game, it’s like gliding. I would be okay with the “gliding” movement, but when you have to make some careful jumps, or you can fall off an edge you can’t “feel” your feet. I know it sounds weird but the character in Half-Life is just an arm with a gun mounted to a unicycle. So my issue with both games is that it doesn’t feel like human movement, it’s too slick and fast. When you get close up on an enemy and try to center on it the slightest touch to the joy-stick sends your site right past. Now, why do I like HL2? Well, for one, the PS3 control is easier to use for this game than “WASD” config on the keyboard. When playing the PC version I feel like every key stroke just moves the character too fast and too far and there’s no way to slow him down. Also, I like the PS3 has all five games on one disk, that’s lovely, and the quick-save is a must-have. The graphics look lovely through my 42″ Bravia 3LCD via HDMI 1.3 and the 7.1 LPCM sound is fairly intense, though some extra rear ambiance would have added to the experience. A warning, if you have your PS3 plugged into a receiver that does not process LPCM, you will likely get a 2.1 mix for sound. (suggestion, the new STR DG720 Sony is $299.00, excellent 7.1 LPCM playback!) Overall the one thing I can’t get around, no feet! I got stuck between to pipes and had to go back to the last save point, when I look down, no feet? WHERE’S the REST OF ME??? Really, all this work into the game and there’s no dude holding the damn gun. When you walk along a narrow ledge or pipe, he just glides, you look down, no feet, no body, nothing. So my issue with Half-Life 1 & 2 all episodes is that the guy has no feet. It doesn’t matter if your one a pipe, the dirt or concrete he moves exactly the same, like a wheel on a flat surface. To me, in a game like this control is everything to gameplay and when I feel like the character can’t be controlled gameplay is diminished. Also, a not to game developers: Could you please let us program the controller like we can the Keyboard and Mouse? Really? Please? I want to be able to look with the right and move with the left, but all the left axis does is strafe left and right, not turn. I hate this!!! I don’t need it to strafe! I want to be able to turn and look separately and not use to sticks just to move! All and all, an okay game, but I think enough issues to say that it could have been so much better.
Customer Review: Super great title for PS3!
If you have a PS3, then you need The Orange Box. Halflife has always been a favorite of mine, and since my computer stoped running it, I was very excited to get it on my PS3. The rumors that the critics and 360 fanchildren say about the framerate being bad and it having horible load times are complete lies. The framerate runs at a constant 30FPS which is what the game is designed to run on. I’ve only noticed a few, and I mean VERY few dips in the framerate. And as far as the load times go, if you can’t wait 10-15 seconds for a game to load, then perhaps you should not be playing video games. Halflife 2 and the other 2 episodes runs better on my PS3 than they did on my old PC. Also, Portal is one of the most inovative games out there, a must try. As far as Team Fortress goes, I don’t have my PS3 online so I can’t give a review on that, but I’ve heard its really good. Hands down this is one of the best titles for the PS3 to date. If you are an old Halflife fan, or a first person sci-fi fan then this game is for you!

PS3 DualShock 3 Wireless Controller (Black) (Japan Version)
PlayStation 3 owners are finally getting some feedback. The SIXAXIS controller, originally bundled with the PS3, has been upgraded into the DualShock 3, combining the features of the motion-sensitive SIXAXIS controller with the force feedback functions of the PlayStation 2’s DualShock 2 controller. The controllers operate wirelessly via Bluetooth techonology, though they can also be wired with a USB-to-USB mini cable, which is also used to charge the device. The DualShock 3 can sense movement on all three-dimensional axes, and has built-in analog control on the control sticks and buttons. Of course, the big deal with the DualShock 3 is the return of the “”rumble”" feature; the controller now vibrates in response to onscreen stimuli, further increasing gameplay immersion. With the addition of force feedback, the DualShock 3 is practically a required upgrade for any hardcore PlayStation 3 owner.
Price: $139.99
Customer Review: Not bad.
A lot of people will tell you “Rumble is worthless. I don’t even notice anyway.” I don’t notice either, but man…when it’s gone the controller feels strange, and that’s not even bringing weight into consideration. The Dualshock 3 feels more substantial (heavier), and the vibration works with every game I have except Ninja Gaiden Sigma. I’m happy Sony settled its difference with whoever makes the rumble for them because I’ve been using basically the same controller since Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation. While sometimes an inferior controller when it comes to first person shooters and racing games (it’s the L2/R2 buttons) the device fits me like a glove and there’s no need to buy silly battery packs like good ol’ Microsoft might charge ya for.
Customer Review: very fulfilling
wow when i first got the six-axis it felt like something was missing, when playing call of duty it felt very wierd. but when i got this I felt complete ! this is a definealy a must-grab for ps3‘>ps3 owners, i seriously think this is worth the extra money because god knows when it is coming to the states

Sonic The Hedgehog (PS3) Customer Review: bad bad bad….
this game is complete rubbish. first impressions are good, a good intro with superb graphics, but it didnt stay like that. in game it has almost ps2 graphics and thee gameplay is terrible, lots of loading screens. makes you do the most stupidest boring tasks like ‘talk to the shoemaker’ then a loading screen… it goes on..
Customer Review: Infuriating!!!
The opening sequence for the game looks incredible. I saw it playing in a shop window and was amazed that it was a sonic game.
However the sequence was not a very good indicator of what was to come.
I only kept it long enough to play a couple of hours as the whole thing was just too tedious. You spend most of your time running around talking to people in the town, too boring.
There is a ridiculous amount of loading screens which take far too long. It also doesn’t cope with many moving characters on the screen. If there’s lots of enemies on the screen movement becomes very juddery.
If you really must see what this game has to offer(or rather doesn’t)then rent or borrow it. Don’t spend the money as you’ll lose out when you have to trade for a fraction of what you originally paid.
It’s a shame that the PS3 has launched with such a pathetic title as it the machine has so much potential. Roll on DMC4 & MGS4!!!
